JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Controller
Department: Finance / Accounting
Reports to: CEO
Position Type: Exempt Non-exempt
Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes No

Summary: This position is responsible for all aspects of accounting and finance including staff and outsource resources. In addition, this individual conducts analysis and completes special projects under the direction of the CEO.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain current, accurate accounting records
• Manage all aspects of the accounting functions including cash, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, and including commissions.
• Maintain banking relationships
• Manage commercial insurance needs
• Continually automate and improve processes
• Prepare and administer budgets and forecasts
• Manage all audits
• Provide management reporting and analysis
• Lead cost management efforts
• Participate as a member of the Executive Management Team
• Perform month-end close
• Coordinate contracts, leases and taxes
• Manage Accounting staff

Education and / or Experience
Bachelor’s of Science degree in accounting or finance from a 4-year college or university. Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a controller capacity for a mid-size company; 3-5 years experience in public accounting desired; CPA required.
Computer Skills: Demonstrates proficiency in Automated Accounting Systems. Expertise in Excel, Word and Outlook experience required.
Other Key Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of GAAP, basic cash flow and treasury principles, and management accounting principles required.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Primary Environment:Ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment found in a typical office. Occasional exposure to building areas where use of personal protective equipment such as hard hats, hearing protection and safety glasses may be required.
